Harrogate Fashion Week Welcomes Record August Visitor Numbers as Buyers Enjoy One-Stop Buying Destination

Harrogate Fashion Week has just wrapped up another successful August edition, welcoming its highest-ever visitor numbers at the show, with more than 2,000 people through the doors over the three days.

Across the three busy days, HFW hosted over 250 brands with all four halls fully booked, buyers were able to complete all their buying in one place, exploring womenswear, footwear, accessories, occasionwear, jewellery, lingerie and swimwear without the need for multiple buying trips.

The busy aisles provided the perfect place that many independent retailers, garden centre buyers and department stores have been looking for: an efficient way to buy for the next season while still having time to discover new brands, catch up with suppliers and industry friends and build relationships face to face, in a relaxed yet business-focused environment.

The atmosphere that HFW has become known for continued after the halls closed on Sunday, as buyers and exhibitors gathered for the much-loved After Party, where live DJ music, drinks and canapés provided the perfect setting to catch up with industry friends and continue conversations started throughout the day.

“While the fashion industry can feel tough at the moment, Harrogate reminds people why they enjoy being part of it. It is busy, productive and commercially worthwhile, but it is also friendly, sociable and genuinely enjoyable.” Says returning buyer Tiffany, Owner of Renes Fashion in Lancaster. “In an industry facing economic pressures and rising costs, those moments matter. The Harrogate Fashion Week team are always visible, welcoming and happy to help, making everyone feel part of the event from the moment they arrive.”

Throughout the show, buyers were also encouraged to pause and recharge during HFW’s complimentary Happy Hours, enjoying coffee, pastries and prosecco in the Fashion Bar. Buyers were also served prosecco and popcorn in the aisles, keeping visitors refreshed as they explored everything HFW had to offer.

“What an amazing three days. I’ve not known a show that busy in years.” Commented Lucy, from Richman Brands, “A great big thank you to all the staff that make it such a fun, easy show to exhibit at. We will see you in February.”

These sentiments were echoed by new Louise Collins of long time supporter Alice Collins, who said, “The Show was a fabulous success & we are very grateful to the whole HFW team who ‘go the extra mile’ & are just wonderful to deal with.”

As buying habits evolve, and with retailers looking to make any time spent away from their shop count, Harrogate Fashion Week offers the unrivalled opportunity to achieve more in a single trip. Bringing together over 250 brands under one roof, HFW allows buyers to compare collections, meet the people behind the brands and do all their buying in one place without having to travel between multiple events. It’s a productive way to complete all buying in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that keeps more and more visitors coming back.

“It was fantastic to welcome so many buyers back to Harrogate this August and to see the halls so busy throughout the three days. We always try to make Harrogate Fashion Week a real experience for buyers, where doing business sits along the social aspect of catching up with old friends and colleagues,” says Georgia Flynn, Event Director. “We genuinely want people to enjoy their time here, and we are proud of the really welcoming community HFW is for exhibitors and visitors. Seeing visitor numbers continue to grow shows just how much people value the experience, and we can’t wait to do it all again in February.”
